# Patients

> View and manage patient records submitted through the prescriber portal.

The **Patients** page aggregates patient records from prescriptions submitted to your pharmacy.

## Patient list

Search and filter patients by name, date of birth, or prescriber. Each row links to a detail page with full demographics and order history.

## Patient detail

The patient detail page includes:

* **Demographics** — name, date of birth, phone, and address
* **Allergies** — stored as a list; an empty list means no known allergies
* **Orders** — every prescription for this patient
* **Patient record changes** — an audit trail showing before and after values when the prescriber or your team updates patient information

### Editing allergies

Owners and pharmacists can edit allergies from the patient detail page. Use the allergy editor to add, remove, or select from suggestions based on your formulary ingredients.

<Warning>
  Allergy data affects prescriber-facing warnings in the portal. Keep patient allergy records accurate and up to date.

## How patient data flows

Prescribers create and update patients from the portal when submitting prescriptions. Changes sync to your admin view immediately. Each field change is logged with the actor and timestamp for compliance and troubleshooting.

## Clinic scoping

Patients are associated with prescribers, and prescribers belong to clinics. Pharmacist notes and unread counts respect clinic boundaries — prescribers at the same clinic can see shared notes for their patients.
