# Sign in and access

> How to sign in to OttoRx ScriptPad, use your pharmacy subdomain, and reset your password.

## Sign-in URL

Each pharmacy has a dedicated subdomain:

```
https://{your-pharmacy-slug}.ottorx.co/sign-in
```

Your pharmacy owner or administrator shares this URL with staff and prescribers. You can also find it on the **Branding** tab under **Settings**.

The platform host `https://scriptpad.ottorx.co` is used for platform administration. Most pharmacy staff and prescribers sign in through their pharmacy-specific subdomain.

## Sign in

1. Open your pharmacy sign-in URL.
2. Enter your email and password.
3. Click **Sign in**.

If your account has access to both the pharmacy admin and prescriber portal, an experience switcher appears after sign-in. Use it to toggle between **Admin** and **Portal**.

## Forgot your password

1. On the sign-in page, click **Forgot password?**
2. Enter your email address and submit the form.
3. Check your email for a reset link (valid for 24 hours).
4. Open the link, enter a new password, and sign in.

  If you do not receive a reset email, confirm you are using the correct pharmacy subdomain and that your account exists. Contact your pharmacy administrator for prescriber accounts.

## Session timeout

For security, ScriptPad signs you out after a period of inactivity. Your pharmacy configures the timeout duration in **Settings**. When your session expires, you are redirected to the sign-in page.

## Account types

| Role       | Experience | Typical access                                                      |
| ---------- | ---------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Owner      | Admin      | Full pharmacy configuration, team management, all operational areas |
| Pharmacist | Admin      | Orders, formulary, prescribers, patients, reports                   |
| Technician | Admin      | Dashboard, orders, messages, patients                               |
| Prescriber | Portal     | Submit prescriptions, view orders, patients, pharmacist notes       |

Owners invite staff from **Team**. Prescribers are invited from **Prescribers**.
