# Patients

> Manage patient records and allergies in the prescriber portal.

The **Patients** page lists patients you have prescribed for at this pharmacy.

## Patient list

Search patients by name or date of birth. Click a patient to view their profile and order history.

## Patient context in the builder

When submitting a prescription, the patient context panel on the right side of the builder lets you:

* **Select an existing patient** from your list
* **Create a new patient** with name, date of birth, phone, address, and allergies
* **Update allergies** — enter allergies as a comma-separated list; ScriptPad normalizes and deduplicates them

## Allergy warnings

ScriptPad compares patient allergies against formulary ingredients while you build a prescription. If a potential conflict is detected, a warning appears before you send the Rx.

<Warning>
  Accurate allergy documentation protects your patients. Review and update allergies at each visit, especially when adding new compounds to an order.
</Warning>

## Patient updates

When you update patient information from the builder, changes sync to your pharmacy's admin view. An audit log tracks what changed, when, and who made the edit.

## Clinic sharing

If multiple prescribers practice at the same clinic, pharmacist notes and certain patient context may be visible across prescribers at that clinic. Patient records remain tied to the prescribing relationship with the pharmacy.
