Order list
Orders are sorted with the newest submissions first. An unread badge on Orders in the sidebar shows how many orders you have not reviewed yet. The count clears when you mark orders as seen. Use filters and search to find orders by reference number, prescriber, patient, or status.Order statuses
Update status from the order detail page as work progresses. Prescribers see the current status in their portal.
Order detail
Each order includes:- Reference number — format
RX-YYMMDD-NNNN, assigned automatically at submission - Estimated ready date — calculated from your turnaround settings and urgency (standard or rush)
- Line items — compounds, strengths, quantity, days supply, refills, and directions
- Patient — demographics, allergies, and contact information
- Prescriber — provider credentials and practice
- Activity log — status changes, delivery events, and notes
Custom prescriber instructions
When a prescriber replaces your Default Pharmacy Instructions, the line shows a Custom prescriber instructions flag. Your default is listed beside the custom text. The custom text is what was sent on the prescription, the PDF, and any later renewal.Prescription requests
When a prescriber submits a controlled-substance order, the order detail shows a banner: This is a prescription request, not a prescription. Call the prescriber for a lawful Rx before compounding. Manual orders created for controlled substances show the same distinction in the queue.Script renewal
When a prescription is out of refills or no longer fillable, request a renewal from the prescriber without faxing:1
Open the order
Go to Orders and open the original prescription.

Request renewal
In the Script renewal card, click Request renewal. OttoRx highlights this card when any line shows 0 refills. Add an optional note (for example, “patient out of refills”).

Track the request
Click Send renewal request. The prescriber is notified in the portal. While pending, the card shows Pending with prescriber and you can Cancel request if needed.

Follow up
When the prescriber sends a renewed prescription, it appears in your queue. Prior requests are listed under Prior requests with a link to the new Rx.
Automatic delivery
When a prescriber sends a prescription, OttoRx automatically:- Saves the order to your queue
- Generates a vision-ready PDF
- Sends the PDF via fax and/or SFTP if your pharmacy has those channels configured
