The Orders page is your central queue for every prescription submitted through the prescriber portal.

Order list

Orders are sorted with the newest submissions first. An unread badge on Orders in the sidebar shows how many orders you have not reviewed yet. The count clears when you mark orders as seen. Use filters and search to find orders by reference number, prescriber, patient, or status.

Order statuses

Update status from the order detail page as work progresses. Prescribers see the current status in their portal.

Order detail

Each order includes:
  • Reference number — format RX-YYMMDD-NNNN, assigned automatically at submission
  • Estimated ready date — calculated from your turnaround settings and urgency (standard or rush)
  • Line items — compounds, strengths, quantities, and directions
  • Patient — demographics, allergies, and contact information
  • Prescriber — provider credentials and practice
  • Activity log — status changes, delivery events, and notes

Automatic delivery

When a prescriber sends a prescription, ScriptPad automatically:
  1. Saves the order to your queue
  2. Generates a vision-ready PDF
  3. Sends the PDF via fax and/or SFTP if your pharmacy has those channels configured
Delivery failures do not block the order — the portal record is always the source of truth. Failed deliveries appear on the order detail page with a Re-send option.

Fax transmission card

Shows fax status (queued, sending, delivered, or failed), recipient number, page count, and a Download PDF link.

SFTP delivery card

Shows upload status, remote path, file size, and Download PDF or Re-send actions. Configure fax numbers and SFTP credentials under Settings → Fulfilment Details.

Pharmacist notes

Add internal or prescriber-visible notes on an order. Notes tied to a patient also surface in the prescriber’s Pharmacist Notes panel.
