The Patients page shows everyone you have prescribed for through this pharmacy. Search by name, date of birth, or phone to narrow the list.

Patient roster

When you open Patients, OttoRx shows Your Patients with a Patient roster of people on your personal roster. Use the search field — Search by name, date of birth, or phone — to filter the list. Each row shows allergies, order count, and last order. Use Edit, Allergies, or New Rx on the row. If no patients match your search, clear the filter or create a new patient from New Prescription.

Patient search on New Prescription

On New Prescription, Choose patient and Change patient open a search window. Search covers all patients at this pharmacy, not only your personal roster. Type a name, date of birth, or phone number to find matches, or click Add new patient.

Patient on New Prescription

After you select a patient, the page shows their name, date of birth, phone, and known allergies. Edit patient opens the patient form, including name, date of birth, phone, address, and allergies. Change patient opens the search window again. On a screen narrower than 768px, those two buttons sit on the next row. At 768px and wider, they sit on the patient pill. Open Pharmacist Notes to see which patients have unread notes.

Allergy warnings

OttoRx compares patient allergies against formulary ingredients while you build a prescription. Allergy match appears on the order line as soon as you add a conflicting medication. Review shows Matches patient allergy. OttoRx asks you to confirm that match once, when you send.
Accurate allergy documentation protects your patients. Review and update allergies at each visit, especially when adding new compounds to an order.

Patient updates

When you update patient information from New Prescription, changes sync to your pharmacy’s admin view. An audit log tracks what changed, when, and who made the edit.

Clinic sharing

If multiple prescribers practice at the same clinic, pharmacist notes and certain patient context may be visible across prescribers at that clinic. Patient records remain tied to the prescribing relationship with the pharmacy.
